ARCHITECTURE CULTURE & HISTORY 1 ARC60103

A chronological survey of the developments of Western architecture from the beginning of time to the period of Enlightenment, with consideration of the intellectual, aesthetic, technological, political and economic factors which have influenced the design of buildings. These issues are explored with reference to major contemporary examples and the work and philosophy of significant exponents.

PROJECT  PRECEDENT STUDY & ANALYSIS 

Online Forum Discussion 

In this online group discussion, we are to work as a team in exploring the precedent studies of our building, which is Notre Dame de Paris.
For my part, i'm researching the function and purpose of the building.

Analysis Presentation Board 

This project is the continuation, part b, of the online discussion. 

In this project I am  to illustrate the Precedent Study Analysis with circulation analysis.

3D Abstraction Model

This is the final part of this project, part c.

In this project, we are to construct a 3d model expressing the most significant and relevant details of the building. we are only to use balsa wood as materials.

 

Reflection

In this project assignment, i've learned a lot about the influence and importance of culture and history if a place. In this case Notre Dame de Paris. I've learned how the architecture evolves, analysis of a certain place and the construction of the abstraction model.
