Project 1a Case Study

We were given a city to study and analyse based on the ideas set by Jan Gehl. A reference and understanding on "Life Between Buildings" (1986), Jan Gehl, was used to identify and justify the ideas. We were to complete this case study in a group of 5 on the city of Seattle. 1sr Ave street was our group's chosen location fro this case study.

Identifying contact points and types of theories suggested by Jan Gehl was conducted and well studied in the case study.


Project 1b Comparative essay

In this 2nd part, a comparative essay between 1st Ave street and Jalan Tun HS Lee was to be analysed. Application on the ideas from Jan Gehl was to be instilled and compared in both cities. Different and similar elements are to be recorded and analysed.

The knowledge of previously studied ideas from Jan Gehl was further used and appropriated in this final report, comparative essay between 2 cities.


Project 2 Synopsis - Reaction paper

There are 4 reaction paper in total, all regarding the further understanding of urbanism. These 4 papers act as a filler and different perspective view and ideas from various authors.

The study of several ideas from different authors offers a degree of different stand points and personal oppinioins. It was eye opening as well as knowledgeable.
